As our demand for information increases, so does the size and number of data centers & the Cloud. Power consumption is the key focus of system architects, always looking for both power and space saving alternatives. For every 1W saved, a Cloud datacenter can realize $7.00 over a 3 year period. Viking Technology have developed a number of DRAM modular and Flash solutions to best meet our OEM customers needs of high capacity, high reliability, small mechanical footprint and low environmental impact.

Viking Modular has designed and manufactured a number of green alternative products:

SATADIMM - The SATADIMM is an Enterprise Class Solid State Drive (SSD) in an industry-standard JEDEC 240-pin DDR3 DIMM form factor (JEDEC MO-269). SATADIMM is designed to take advantage of available DDR3 DIMM sockets allowing designers to increasing performance and capacity while improving thermals and lowering system costs.

ArxCis-NV™ DIMM – Designed to backup mission critical data in the event of a power failure without being reliant on a backup battery. Once a loss of power has been detected the backup power for the module is provided by supercapacitors, enabling the data to transfer from volatile DRAM into non-volatile NAND, where it can securely reside for up to 10 years. ArxCis-NV is environmentally conscious, a “safe and green” product with no toxic battery disposal required.

RAM-Stack™ DRAM Packaging – Innovative stacking technology, to support the need for high density modules, space constrained systems and temperature sensitive environments. Having a superior volumetric density allows system architects to utilize their cooling & power restrictions more efficiently. For example, system boards populated with thinner RAM-Stack™ modules will have wider gaps between each module, thus by having lower air resistance the result is a superior cooling environment.
