ENERGY SUBSYSTEM (ESS)

Viking Technology NVDIMM’s are powered by an energy subsystem (ESS) which provides enough power to the module in an event of power-loss to safely store all mission critical data. The ESS comes in two standard form factors: 2.5 inch, and custom form factors. Viking Technology has the ability to customize ESS to fit customer’s open slot within any server/storage appliance.

Viking Technology energy subsystems are developed to last up to 5 years operating at 10°C to 60°C. Viking ESS can be can be configured to support 1 ESS to 2 NVDIMM.

Viking’s NVDIMM provides persistence feature to DIMMs by combining low latency DRAM and Flash technologies. DDR4 NVDIMMs are geared towards improving application performance substantially along with safe guarding the data in Server and Storage systems.

VIKING CUSTOMIZATION OPTIONS

JEDEC compliant NVDIMMs from Viking can be plugged into a standard DIMM slot and functions as a regular DIMM for host applications. DRAM Data gets backed up to onboard Flash during a power failure or planned downtime and in turn restored back to DRAM once power is reapplied.
